Grouper is releasing an LP titled “The Man Who Died in His Boat”, it’s a collection of unreleased material from the same period of time that 2008′s Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill was recorded. Vital reminds me of the memory of being at church when I was a kid:

DZA recently uploaded this “secret track” along with the text “new EP coming soon”. This teaser is pretty bumpin’, really like the slowed down tempo and concert hall reverb at the beginning and the tail end of this track – couldn’t help but be reminded of UK skins seasons 1 and 2 (more specifically Kaya Scodelario’s character Effy). If the new EP sounds a lot like this, safe to say I’m going to like it a lot.

Anyone whose seen beach fossils play live knows their performances are a lot more “jammy” on stage vs. their recordings, making for an exciting show. I really like this new direction they’re heading toward with their more upbeat recordings, in my opinion it’s a nice step forward. You can grab the new record titled “Clash the Truth”, from Captured Tracks on February 19th.
