    STRANGE CACTII

Angel Olsen is creating some interesting drifts in the world my brain waves reside in.

The Chicago-based Olsen is separated from other indie folk singer/songwriters with her heartfelt lyrics. These lyrics add a unique and very real element to her simple set of a guitar and vocals. Her voice, beautiful and seemingly not of this world, transcends the message of her songwriting, possibly strategically calculated, to the ears of the listener. Her vocal patterns caresses the ears gently with the tones of sadness and heartbreak, the emotions brought to those who venture down the unknown, mysterious passages of love. Creator, Destroyer is a song that proves Angel can bring such deep music and present it beautifully, with ease.

Creator, Destroyer is a track off of her new cassette through one of my personal favorite tape labels, Bathetic Records, limited to 100 cassettes.

‘Fuck this and everything we’ve done. Fuck you, fuck you, and your lies’
