Britney and I go way back. When I was a young lad, I was a big fan of her first single “Baby…One More Time.” I am not sure if you remember, but the music video was pretty popular. The video begins with Britney waiting for school to end so she can dance in the hallway with her classmates. She seemed a bit underdressed, and being the young boy that I was this video made me fantasize about going to high school because I had assumed most girls dressed like that there. When I began freshman year of high school, I found this to generally not be true.
There really isn’t much to analyze in this music video, because it is just Britney singing about wanting her man back. I believe she is dancing throughout the entire video as a form of expression of desire for this man, whom I believe is called “Baben”. It is also possible that Britney may be mispronouncing the word “Baby” to draw attention to the word. Lastly, I am unsure why Britney wants her old boyfriend to “hit her one more time”. I am confused why she would condone such violence. Perhaps there is some symbolism behind the meaning of the lyrics that I am failing to see. The video soon ends with a shot of Britneys face, smiling. At this point in time, it is reasonable to deduct that the scenes proceeding this last one had been a daydream.
Moving on to Britney’s new record, I am quite impressed by the production behind her songs. I still do not really understand her lyrics. However, from a pop standpoint the instrumentals are quite satisfactory for dancing. Till The World Ends is in fact a song that implies one should be dancing when the song is playing. About a month ago I was dancing at a Top 40 club and this song had played. It was the first song I heard off of her new record, and honestly I had thought it was Katy Perry. I remember enjoying this song so much I had felt like my body was possessed, I couldn’t stop dancing. It was truly an innner-body experience that had transcended outward, and people began feeding off of my vibes. Soon, there was a crowd of women around me and we were all having a really great time.
If you have seen the video for this song, you may realize that this song is literally about dancing like the world is ending. Now if that doesn’t make you want to dance, I don’t know what will.
I recently stumbled upon this Korallreven remix of Till The World Ends, which is just as good as the original song. Stream below (via FADER).

oh man i couldn’t possibly agree more with what you say about britney’s recent stuff… and yeah, i love her, and i think her music is underrated in music circles solely because she’s a mainstream artist. she is top!
