To be totally honest I’m pretty fed-up with the “chillwave” genre. Most would argue those washed out and toro y moi records started the whole thing. While I enjoy those records I feel as though the average spin-offs that I see on the internet are so chill it’s just plain cheesy. I’ve been really getting into a couple of tracks that West Palm Beach, FL’s Samsun has posted on his soundcloud, and these tracks border the chillwave genre. The difference between Samsun and your average internet chillwaver is he does not saturate his tracks with ambience and reverb – his tracks have beats I can really get into.
