It’s been a while since I last heard from XO Kid, apparently he’s been super busy putting this LP together, and I’m personally really stoked how it came out. XO Kid mixes playful electronics with a hazy guitar and drawn-out vocals. The vibe is definitely right for the summer, and I would highly suggest dl’ing some of his older tracks for some summer mix tape greatness (for real, so essential).
I had first heard XO Kid during last summer around this time when I attended a show at Sina’s spot (Dream Boat) in providence. At the time he was playing as Space Caves. It was also pretty rad to see Sina and Lucy on the Mishka blog recently.
Mistaken is a track that I particularly enjoy because of the ambience that lays below his vocals and drum machine. It’s pretty dreamy, and I have a sore spot for anything dream-pop related. Ladybug is more of that playful electronic thing he does which I also enjoy.
